Amateur World Basketball Connection is a program that was started by G.O.O.D. Kids Inc. to connect the world through basketball. Basketball is a sport that is loved and played all around the world; this is more than a game but a culture. Since the 1992 USA Basketball Olympic Team influence on the sport, it has grown to be one of the most played sports in the world. Basketball fever has gripped the globe and it’s evident by the ever-growing number of people who play the sport. You can find organize basketball leagues in many countries around the world. With the number of international superstars in the NBA today, basketball will only continue to grow in popularity with boys and girls across the globe.

AWBC will not only connect youth and coaches around the world, but give them the chance to learn other culture basketball styles. Giving youth the chance to play basketball against other youth from other cultures is an experience that will stick with them for a life time. Not only would AWBC give them the opportunity to play basketball but it will give them a chance to create friends abroad.

AWBC will be a game changer literally, giving youth a chance to measure their talent level against other youth from around the world, giving the coaches the chance to share different coaching methods and drills. Coaches will get a chance to practice the other team players and the players will get a chance to practice with other team coaches.

AWBC will not only be a world basketball connection but it will build character, determination, and work ethic in our youth around the world. It will also give the youth around the world a chance to dream and turn those dreams into reality.

Amateur World Basketball Connection (Conexión Mundial de Baloncesto Amateur) es un programa que fue empezado por G.O.O.D. Kids Inc. para conectar al todo la gente del mundo con el deporte del baloncesto. El baloncesto es un deporte que es amado y jugado alrededor del mundo; es mas que un deporte, es una cultura. Desde 1992 la influencia del equipo olimpico de baloncesto de USA ha tenido mucha influencia en el desarrollo del este deporte. El baloncesto ha crecido mucho y es uno de los deportes mas jugado en el mundo. La fiebre del Baloncesto ha tomado al mundo por la mano y es evidente con el numero de gente que juega a este deporte. Se pueden encontrar ligas organizadas de baloncesto en muchos paises del mundo. Con el numero de jugadores internacionales en la NBA hoy en dia, el baloncesto seguira creciendo en popularidad con los jovenes de todo el mundo.

AWBC no solo conectara a jovenes y entrenadores de todo el mundo, pero tambien les dara la oportunidad de aprender otras culturas y otros estilos de baloncesto. Darles una oportunidad a los jovenes de jugar a baloncesto con otros jovenes de otros paises, es una experiencia que llevaran dentro, toda su vida. No solo AWBC les dara una oportunidad de jugar a baloncesto, pero tambien de hacer amigos en otros paises.

AWBC les hara cambiar su vision de juego, dandoles una oportunidad de comparar su talento con el talento de otros jovenes del mundo entero, y dandole a los entrenadores una posibilidad de intercambiar diferentes estilos de juego y ejercicios para los entrenamientos. Los entrenadores tendran la oportunidad de entrenar a los jugadores de otros equipo y los jugadores tendran la oportunidad de experienciar otro sistema de entrenamiento, al tener un entrenador de otro pais.

AWBC no solo sera una conexion internacional de baloncesto, pero tambien ayudara a que los jovenes  tengan mas ganas de trabajar duro, sean mas determinados y maduren al ver el nivel de baloncesto internacional. Tambien les dara a los jovenes razones para soñar a lo grande y poder ver sur sueños convertidos en realidad.

Once again the grass roots travel basketball season is upon us and Team G.O.O.D. youth travel teams are gearing up for the season. We are proud to introduce our new logo to the world; we have also added a new color to our logo. Not only have we changed our logo and added a new color we have also added new teams to the Team G.O.O.D. & G.O.O.D. Kids family.

We are proud to welcome the new coaches and players to our family. During the off season we have been working hard not only to establish relationships all over the country, but also abroad. G.O.O.D. Kids and Team G.O.O.D. is in the process of revolutionizing grassroots basketball.

Team GOOD Florida Highlights Part 1

Jacksonville, Florida

One Down!!!

Team G.O.O.D. went down I-95 to Jacksonville, Florida to participate in D1spects River City Classic. Displaying hard nose defense and fast pace basketball, Team G.O.O.D. was able to bring back the first place trophy.

Arriving in Jacksonville Friday afternoon the team was very anxious and ready to play. This been the first tournaments of the year most of the players had butterflies and the coaches didn’t know what to expect.

In the first game Friday night the team came out and played defense like a 90′s Duke team. All 12 players went and put their all on the court. Before you knew it Team G.O.O.D had a 30+ point lead on their opponent. They won the game  by 28 points. The coaches were glad to see by them putting extra emphasis on defense it worked out for the best.

Saturday the team had a early game. Facing the host team the coaches knew  they needed to see the same team from Friday night, with the same intensity.

We came out ready to play, but lack the defense intensity from the night before. Not only did we play at a slower pace but we hurt ourselves with turn overs and fouls. We had 18 turnovers in the first half and the opposing team was in the bonus. With the careless mistakes we still stuck in the game until the last minute, we ended up loosing by 10 points.

Saturday wasn’t a good day we lost another close one by 1 point. ( HIGHLIGHTS and GAMES COMING SOON )

Long story short Team G.O.O.D. came out Sunday and redeem their selves  played hard and was able to revenge their one point lost. They won the championship game by 2 points in overtime to the team they lost to by 1 point the night before.

Team GOOD : SC Premier Grassroots Basketball Team

GOOD Sports LLC have been invited to represent South Carolina in 8 major exposure grassroots basketball tournaments across the country.

We are asking all parents to bring their kids to this tryout – workout not only to represent there school and city, but to represent South Carolina.

It doesn’t matter if your players are already playing for an AAU team, this is a team put together to represent South Carolina and to bring maximum exposure to the kids participating on these teams.

Strengths:

Because of his outstanding overall skill level Miller is one of the most versatile players in the 2011 class. As a 6’10 wing player his potential and upside are phenomenal as he combines size, athleticism and a good basketball I.Q. into a difficult match-up at any level. He has the ability to score inside-out showing that he is adept at playing with his back to the basket or facing up. He can knock it down behind the arc and is a good play maker off the dribble. He is also a very good rebounder and shot blocker when he puts his mind to it.

Weakness:
Miller’s strength from the perimeter sometimes turns into one of his biggest weaknesses as he has a tendency to gravitate to the perimeter too often which leads to a lack of offensive rebounding production and free-throw attempts. Although he is a shot maker, he needs to refine his shooting technique (his shot is a little deliberate, flat and his elbow is out) from 3 as his shooting percentage is bound to dip at the next levels when he is forced to get it off quicker against bigger and more athletic defenders. Finally, he has a great frame, but needs to develop his body to take the physical pounding at the higher levels.

Bottom Line:
Miller is an elite player and one of the top NBA prospects in his class. He reminds me of a more athletic Danny Manning-type player that is highly skilled and understands how to play. If he continues to work, develop and stays focused this young man has a bright future ahead of him.

Anthony Timmons began his life in fitness back in 2000. He started in
weight training and branched out as a strength and conditioning trainer
by 2003. The level of his training was so intense that his trainees would
always tell him that he would “make a good drill sergeant.”

In 2008 he helped coach an AAU basketball team, SC Elite. In 2009 he became
Co-Owner of G.O.O.D. Kids, (a non profit organization that offers free basketball skills
and mentoring to teenage boys) and Co-Owner of a traveling basketball team, Team
G.O.O.D., where he now teaches conditioning along with Owner, Robert Wylie who
teaches basketball skill work.
